I remember when this came out. I believe (didn’t re-read the article tonight), the transfusions need to be repeated.

Quite the cash cow.

Is parental consent needed for teens under 18? Do the teens get compensation? Who verfies the teens’ age?

Very pricey for a simple transfusion.

Red Cross visits HS twice a year with their bloodmobile. Students under 18 need a permission slip (coordinated w school) 18 yr olds can choose independent of parents. Lots of young blood collected. Would still like to believe it is all going to the local blood bank, but this is still Arkansas.

There was speculation that Hildabeat has been taking for some time. Which has led to a disease whose name escaps me at the moment.

Similar to mad cow - but whose symptons are similar to what she is exhibiting these last few years. Unsteady walk, vision issues are just two that I recall.
