Art Bell, a radio host best known for a paranormal-themed nightly show syndicated on hundreds of stations in the 1990s, died at his home in southern Nevada, authorities said Saturday.

Another thing . . . how odd it is, when you speak with folks that have never heard of Art Bell, or his radio programs. Maybe THEY are the Aliens just covering it all up?
On those very long drives home late at night, it was a great way to pass the time.
Sounds as if he was wandering in the desert and died? No, he died in his home and his home is in the desert.
I used to like him when I listened while working Mids.

I agree on both points. He’s such a wimp and kiss ass. He’ll agree with someone one night and agree with someone the next night with a totally opposing view.
I’d been listening to Art Bell’s show before Katrina, but thatpost Katrina week or two of nothing to watch on tv (power was out)and nothing to do late night, I really enjoyed his radio show. I like George Noory ok and listen some, but those nights in the dark after that mighty hurricane bonded us although I know that’s simplistic to say. Gave me a idea of what the world was before TV but with a edgy side. Also gave me a idea of what a post worldwide disaster would be like with waiting for a rebel station to come on and throw the truth out when only pablum spewed from the official stations, as our tv news is mostly like now.
I was kind of hoping that if he had some lead time before dying, he would arrange to “disappear” instead, leaving behind an incredible assortment of “evidence” to make it appear something very peculiar had happened, like he was abducted by a UFO.
On the nights i did not ha to work the next day i would take a drive just to make it more fun to listen too

I’ve always figured if I see it coming I’m going to find some old prospect hole, cave, or mine adit and crawl back in there with a bag of treasure and my 1858 New Army Remington’s and a rifle.
I’ll leave some stashes around too, just in case the Lord sees fit to just snatch me away without a seconds thought...
One of the best goodbyes I know was done by a high schooler with a terminal illness, and several really close friends.
He got a whole bunch of otherwise blank picture postcards from around the world, and wrote vacation style messages to people he only passingly knew in school. Giving them to his friends, with the instructions that when they traveled internationally, they should take one of these appropriate to their destination, address, stamp and mail it from there.
For years thereafter, his classmates got “ghost” postcards.
Isn’t this guy um a bit of a murderer... They being said Mel s hole and that remote viewing guy were some of my favorites.
Buddy of mine dropped dead last week on the treadmill. 47yo. Never know when your time has come.
