Your post brings up a question I have. Are the parents of Alfie Evans expecting the NHS to pay for their sons continuing treatment, or is the treatment free from the Italian hospital they wish to send him to? Does anyone know?

No, the fight (once again) is that the parents have raised money to take the kid elsewhere to a hospital and doctors willing to try to keep him alive and find and fix the trouble.

The NHS has decided that it is in the best interest of the child to die.

I think they just want to take him out of the enclosure that socialized medicine (NHS) has erected around the good people of Great Britain.

Like any good totalitarian system, no one gets to leave.
