I thought (and still do) that Libby was guilty of what he was charged with. And I had no objection to him being charged - he could have told investigators he knew Plame worked at the CIA.
At the same time, I'm totally with you and GWB's commutation being chicken shit. The whole thing was a witch hunt, BS, never should have started, and it was GWB's fault for not just saying, at the start, "it's no secret that Plame works at the CIA." Bush set up the whole thing to cover somebody against being embarrassed.
Trump did good with this.
I know... but it was a process crime, AND Fitzgerald KNEW who really leaked the name... No need for any investigation, no need to question Libby; they wanted to get at Cheney ⇉ Prez. The whole thing has become a rehearsal for the present overthrow of our Republic. And Bush wimped out!
