And paint is so environmentally friendly, right? Not to mention, think of all the union government jobs that will need to be created/maintained, just to keep up the paint, fix up patches, etc., while the maintenance trucks are out burning gasoline, creating pollution.

In any event, the durability of the coatings seems tentative. I can’t image a coating lasting for years while being beaten daily by thousands of cars and trucks weighing tons.
Truly a silly idea. When my son was 13 he could have ran their road department better.

I think that they should dig up all the asphalt and let it go back to natural. That is the most environmentally friendly way.
Every greasy dirty black rubber tire that rolls down that street will leave its prints. I dare them to show a picture of that street a day AFTER this paint job was dry.
