The governor of Oregon says she'll resist any attempt by Donald Trump to deploy her state's National Guard detachment to protect America's southern border, and California's governor appears poised to follow suit.
The president signed a proclamation on Wednesday that orders Defense Secretary James Mattis to 'request use of National Guard personnel to assist' with the Homeland Security Department's existing border patrol operations.

I think the way he drafted the order, it was more in the way of a request and therefore up to each state governor to either go with the request or oppose it. This POS lib is doing her best to get on center stage and rather than just say no, she has to make a public pronouncement. Fine with that. Now it is up to Trump to say that part of the duties will be to transport those who make it across the border to certain states for detainment and tops on the list are Oregon and soon to be followed by California as I am sure that Gov Moonbeam will refuse any request from Trump.
Or on strictly state status (as opposed to Title 32, which falls under the OTE - organize, train and equip - function)
Oregon is small potatoes, but she needs to be arrested and tried for some form of obstruction. Many state officials in California, starting with Jerry Brown, are insurrectionists and need to be arrested for trying to secede from the US. California needs to be put under a military governor before California declares formal independence or joins with Mexico.
She’s an attention whore. Actually it migh work out well if she put them on our southern border to keep the Californians out. Always a popular move.
These are dangerous times for this reason: Many in authority are not, and do not, feel bound by the law.

The Governor of Oregon gets no vote in this matter.

Isn’t a Federal call up of the NG a military matter?
If so, is the Governor even in the chain of command?
And, if so, and she contravenes orders, could she wind up “in the brig?”

I think 50-percent of this episode is a test by Trump to get Governors hyped up to insist that they own Nat’l Guard troops, and turn this into a media circus.

The shooting started on June 14, 2017, in Alexandria, Virginia when a deranged Democrat attempted to kill Republican members of Congress.
This would be analogous to the raid on Harper’s Ferry being considered the first violent action of the first Civil War.
I think, if I’m reading it right, he can do two things:
1. Ask for them .... the Governor activates them, they do whatever needs to be done, under the command of the State and the state is reimbursed
2. Federalize them ... the President takes control of them as Commander in Chief and they fall directly under the Pentagon and Mattis.
I believe he chose Option 1, for now.
