The biggest Chick-fil-A location in the world is now open in New York City. The new 12,000-square-foot franchise location had its grand opening on Thursday, drawing massive lines of people eager to satisfy their fast food craving and check out the behemoth, five-story restaurant.

The new Chick-fil-A, located at One World Trade Center in the Financial District, features what the Georgia-based company called 'one of a kind design elements,' including seating for 140 people, an open-air rooftop dining area, floor-to-ceiling windows, two kitchens and a semi-private group meeting and dining space.

I put that there.

You are in the minority.

I am an Institutional Equities Trader... or was for almost 40 years. When trading large blocks of sticklike that, the M means 1,000. MM means a million.

See here:

https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=bDrAWob3EYOkjwOmqq6gCQ&q=M+stands+for+1%2C000&oq=M+stands+for+1%2C000&gs_l=psy-ab.3..33i22i29i30k1l2.2305.10876.0.11748.19.18.0.0.0.0.129.1625.16j2.18.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..1.18.1624.0..0j35i39k1j0i131k1j0i10k1j0i22i30k1.0.HElPdatbsrw

The Roman numeral M is often used to indicate one thousand, and MM is used to indicate one million. For example, an expense of $60,000 might appear as $60M. Sales of $3,000,000 might be written as $3MM. Internet advertisers are familiar with CPM which is the cost per thousand impressions.

“Frequently will see MM for million (thousand, thousand)”

Frequently? Roman numeral MM is a bit archaic. :-) Nowadays M is common practice for million with K commonly used for 1000.

Where are the going to find polite, well groomed, Christian white people to work there? Maybe they'll have to "import" them.

Not on trading desks all over the USA. And it is used by the Wall Street Journal. I worked on the floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange, was head of the Equity Desk and traded at exchanges all over the world.

“Not on trading desks all over the USA.”

Yeah right. Like anybody cares that traders use antiquated roman numerals. So what?

Didn’t say it would work, just that some brain-dead lefty would get offended some how and start a protest at that location. I know it didn’t work for exactly the reason you cite.

Just that it is common usually all aspects of equities trading ... and bonds too. 1 bond = 1M.

Since I work at one, I can tell you that not everyone who works there is white. Well-groomed, yes. Christian...not everyone. But...we turn out the best chicken sandwiches you’ve ever had.

Been to the Tower a few times. Been on the golden escalator. Problem for Chick Fil A. I do not think they would be willing to change the name to Trump fil A. One common point for the President and NYC’s former mayor Bloomie... they like their name on things they own.

Who’s got the over/under pool for how long it takes for a protest picket line to form at that location?

Looks like the "line" is to get in.

I wish Chick-Fil-A all the luck in the capitalist American world, as they seem to encourage a good work ethic. I’ve never eaten in one. The lines are usually too long to wait and experiment.

From what I keep hearing, their specialty is a deep fried chick patty, I’ll pass on that for now. That kind of preparation tends to give me heartburn. I like the Fish Fillet at McDonalds or a burger once in a while. The Fish Fillet is usually not hard or too oily, or overcooked in the manner I suspect most Chicken Patties are served. One day I’ll give it a try.
