This fictional family, and the shows very real creator, are further normalizing Trump and his warped, harmful political ideologies. There are times when we can consume problematic pop culture, but this is not one of those times. I saw the first two episodes of the Roseanne reboot, but thats all I am going to watch. Its a small line to draw, but its a start.

“Im surprised the leftie Lezzie Darlene would agree to do the show. She must play the resident Trump basher.”
Actually, it was interesting. When the political conversations were going on — usually between Roseanne and Jackie — Darlene was just an observer.
Later, someone (maybe John Goodman) joked that he thought Darlene was gay. A couple times she said, “I’m not gay!” (She has two kids in the show.)
“Mark is in the military overseas.”
I don’t even recall a Mark in the original. One of the children?
“Not thinking I will be watching it on a regular basis.”
Don’t watch it. Just turn on the TV during the show, or DVR it, to create kick-ass ratings that will send libs to an early grave via spontaneous human combustion or something.
Is that really Roxanne Gay?
Roxane Gay is racist.
Poor silly girl can’t handle it.
Badabing! LOL.
I don’t watch any sit-coms. I’m just not a sit-com person.
He was Becky’s boyfriend and then husband. He was a dark haired lanky guy. I think he probably began when the original Becky was still on the show. I don’t remember him with the new Becky but he must have been there.
Exactly. There’s no real “conservative” message there. Rosanne’s poliical position is a comedy foil off which the writer’s are bouncing their liberal tripe.
Roseanne:The Next Generation
Are they really referring to it that way, TOS vs TNG ?
Let me know when they get to STD (Star Trek Discovery).
Roseanne will get the Laura Treatment, next.
Becky's boyfriend. The actor that played him, Irishman Glenn Quinn, died of a heroin overdose in 2002. Becky's character currently is written as a widow.
Me either. And the redux, frankly, wasn't funny. Plus, overt and angry politics hitting you in the face on a sitcom always makes me turn it off, period.
But its ability to irritate the libs is a plus and for that I hope it stays on.
She’s just mad they didn’t recast the show with blacks. I think all remakes are required to have a black cast and crew now.
And we’re going to do it again!
I’ve been watching re-runs on TVLand today and found out who Mark is. A cutie. To bad about the heroin.
