I'm feeling like hearing some interesting music that I've never heard before, so I thought I'd start a thread on FReeper's favorite underrated bands. Post several good examples of their music and why you feel they're underrated. Should be fun.
And here it is...
Scatter Me - TC&I

Pretty good. Colin still has the voice, and Terry can still ‘it ‘em.
Well, since you’ve a newly acquired a taste for Keith Richards, give this one a spin:
The Rolling Stones - “Before They Make Me Run”
Ambrosia
Stabbing Westward.
Amazing band, great sound, never really caught on.
Much more Kraftwerk than DEVO.
I was just listening to “Angie.”
Thanks for the recommend! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcZn2-bGXqQ
“What Do I Have To Do” actually got a fair amount of play here on the two alt-rock stations that were on air at the time. I recall liking their music. I hear echoes of them in a current band, Gojira, French metal.
This was a totally underrated group. They should have at least made the Green Day or Offspring level of band. They were quite good musically, the front man had 'the look' and a fantastic voice, and their material was original and showed a lot of talent. I give them an A, but society gave them a C-.
I recall that one getting airplay here as well, but something’s not quite right with the audio compared to my recollection. Their potential audience was entirely too absorbed in NIN at the time to give them the recognition, support and success that they deserved, I suppose.
I’m not familiar with them. I shall have to check them out.
If you like Social Distortion, you might like them also, another “punk” band that was very straight Rock n Roll oriented.
Thanks.
