I'm feeling like hearing some interesting music that I've never heard before, so I thought I'd start a thread on FReeper's favorite underrated bands. Post several good examples of their music and why you feel they're underrated. Should be fun.
Little Feat - “Spanish Moon” (vintage live recording, Rainbow Theatre, London, 1977 with The Tower Of Power horn section)
Yep.
Without LG, LF is not the same - his voice, slide & songwriting was Little Feat.
You like the stripped acoustic “Wild Horses?” I love it, the studio version just doesn’t do it for me anymore.
The opening track “Summer’s Cauldron” is especially nice on a very nice album.
Funny that probably my favorite song on Skylarking was the one they removed to make room for “Dear God”.

ROFL!
Stan Kenton - Artistry In Rhythm (vintage color video, London, February 6, 1972)
That was delightful. Thank you so much. Caught a few others, like “What’s New” , another fav.
That’s it
Your Wall of Voodoo mention reminded me that Stan Ridgeway has put out some great solo albums. He is underrated as a solo artist.
Another one: Robbie Williams.
Thank you. That song is very special.
I loved it! Thank you for recommending it.
I dont think I really had an appreciation for Keith Richards until just this past week.
Read his autobiography, "Life", you won't be able to put it down.
I really like Partyball
Partyball, Black Diamond and Snakebite all have so many good songs.
I think I will do just that! Thanks for recommending!
I guess in a way it was hard for him playing second fiddle to Jagger all those years.
But they remind me of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham: ok apart, always much better together.
Yes! Thank you! I was trying to post a link, but my phone wouldn’t cooperate!
Hope you enjoyed the video!
Ten Wheel Drive
The lead Genya Ravan has a voice which is a little Aretha and a little Janis, with a lot of original songs.
Finally found some links

Keyser Soze.
It’s an awesome song, isn’t it?
