We use “Blessings” etc. because “Have a good day” is 1. way too overused and 2. wimpy.
No, I know that. I'm talking about the specific term "Have a blessed day." I've only heard it said after a certain point some years ago out of the mouths of convicts, ex-convicts, and AA people. I suspect it originated in the program. Unless I'm just off base and it's a Southern thing or something. It certainly wasn't a California thing, unless I just missed it somehow. Which is nigh unto impossible. I don't miss a lick.
What say you. I'd love to perfect my "have a blessed day" theory.
