No, I know that. I'm talking about the specific term "Have a blessed day." I've only heard it said after a certain point some years ago out of the mouths of convicts, ex-convicts, and AA people. I suspect it originated in the program. Unless I'm just off base and it's a Southern thing or something. It certainly wasn't a California thing, unless I just missed it somehow. Which is nigh unto impossible. I don't miss a lick.

One of my sisters and my brother both say have a Blessed day, neither have been in prison or recovering alcoholics. Just to add to your hypothesis.
Probably is more a Southern thing.
