March for Our Lives: Gun control ideas sound good, but are deeply flawed and won’t save lives
Fox News ^ | March 24, 2018 | John R Lott Jr

America continues to mourn the 17 people killed in a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida last month. There is an understandable emotional desire to “do something” in response – but without evaluating what the “something” will actually accomplish. This is the driving force behind the March for Our Lives taking place Saturday in Washington.

The motivations of many people taking part in the Washington event and other demonstrations around the country are sincere. But before we “do something,” we need to stop and think: what is the most sensible thing we should do? What will actually save lives and make us safer? It’s important to understand that the debate isn’t between those who want to end violence and those who support gun rights. Both sides want to end violence. The debate is simply over how best to keep Americans safe.

Supporting gun control is now the “in thing.” Stars such as Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus tweet their support. Time and Teen Vogue magazines run cover stories glorifying people working to put stricter controls on guns and ban some weapons. The New England Patriots used their team plane to fly students and families from Parkland, Florida, to Washington for Saturday’s gun control rally.

You would be unlikely to know it from the media coverage of the Washington demonstration, but only 47 percent of Americans between 13 and 17 believe that more gun control could reduce mass public shootings. Britain’s Guardian newspaper asked students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School for their ideas on how to end violence. The ideas sound good at first glance and are certainly well-meaning. But in reality, the policies being proposed will either have no effect or even cause harm.

Here are four of those ideas, and a look at their.....

On Youtube they have multiple videos giving instructions on how to build a homemade flamethrower that can shoot flames 50 feet. Imagine that scenario: Some wacko walks into a school burning kids alive and there’s absolutely nothing that can be done about it because NOBODY has a gun. If these employees of Soros gave one rats ass about protecting students they would be holding marches demanding SECURITY but they do not, because they’re naive little sh*ts who don’t realize they’re being USED.

Imagine this being used on a classroom of kids........

How many school shootings have happened because the killer or killers were able to waltz right into the school completely unchecked? There is NO security and that’s why these school shootings happen. The “protests” and more guns laws will ONLY end up getting more people killed.

Drudge has a photo of the march up on his website. (Yeah, I know. But anyway…) Some of those signs are a hoot. One is even held upside down. Another is written in what appears to be English, but darned if I can understand what it means.

There are two questions that if answered honestly by gun control advocates can resolve this issue.

1) Show me instances of where strict gun control measures have resolved the problems with guns.

2) Show me instances where strict gun control measures have not solved the problem with guns.

They will not answer the second question because they have never considered either question logically. For them it is simply an emotional issue.

>>>I hope there’s plenty of pro-2A supporters marching as well<<<

That would be like a Jew showing up at a Brown Shirt / Hitler Youth Rally.

I’ll bet a dollar to a donut that if anyone showed up wearing an NRA Hat they would be physically attacked by these Useful Idiots.

Same goes if they were wearing a MAGA Hat or a GOP T Shirt.

The problem is not guns in society

the problem is lack of discipline in society

the faculty and teachers in schools have corrupted the system and it has turned schools into hellish socialist indoctrination camps, cultivating diversity instead of unity, coddling and encouraging acting out, failing to enforce discipline

I hope the mess that academia has caused does not spill over in to the workplace ....they little brats will be bringing machine guns or nail bombs to work to have their tantrums when they get bullied or dont get their vacation time

If these little skulls full of mush, and their Liberal benefactors, were truly concerned about saving the lives of children they would be protesting at Planned Parenthood’s death clinics.

Ban assault weapons (AWB), and not a thing will prevent another school shooting.

Two of the most massive school shootings involved not an “Assault Weapon” , but two handguns in one case (Virginia Tech shooter, 32 dead) and a hunting rifle (Texas tower shooter, 15 plus dead I believe)

THE most massive school massacre involved no guns, but a bomb in Bath Michigan, over 40 dead.

The next shooting after a AWB will be calls from the “reasonable gun control crowd” for another class of scary firearms, and then another...

But it really isn’t about an “honest conversation” about gun control.
These idiots either are dishonest in their true intentions to ban all firearms or they are too ignorant on the subject to see the dishonesty.

My generation didn’t have this problem, what has changed?
1. 2 parent families have declined.
2. Violent video games.
3. Movies show more violence to resolve problems.
4. Drug used is promoted by the entertainment industry.
5. Education in our schools has changed to liberal Indoctrination.

http://injuryfacts.nsc.org/all-injuries/preventable-death-overview/odds-of-dying/data-details/

About twice as many people died from dog bites in 2016 than from the FL school shooting. Ban dogs! March against dogs!

Four times as many died from hornets, wasps and bees. Ban bees! March on hornets!

31 times as many died from drowning in the bathtub. No more baths for anyone!!!

There is an understandable emotional desire to “do something” in response – but without evaluating what the “something” will actually accomplish.

This is what liberals do, they feel, they don't think.

Not good be person ever mentions Columbine happened during the automatic ban. Not one person. I say this is one reason we are losing this battle. We are awful at messaging.

It’s all about show, isn’t it?

None of this does anything but create show.

We have a simple (but not easy) process to resolve this: Begin the process to repeal the second amendment. Of course, that means they must have the votes of 2/3 of both houses, and further ratification by 3/4 of the states, but they are welcome to do this. But with 300 million firearms in circulation, even if 10 years of repeal efforts were successful, it would be another 100 years before those were gone — not to mention the additional arms added by smuggling over that period.

And yet, no one makes a peep about real solutions — changing our culture by removing violence from video games, movies, rap music, etc., stepping up accountable parenting and reopening mental hospitals.

Instead, it’s all about show. And it’s a show put on by the very people who are truly responsible for what we have become...

But if you do have to open fire, having a semi-automatic weapon means that you won’t have to take the time to manually reload the gun.

This exact thing happened to 2 police officers in a shootout in Palm Bay, FL back in the days when they carried 6-shooters. While the cops reloaded, they were shot and killed.
