Why don’t they just make the whole state of Oregon a gun-free zone? That would be a sure-fire bet to keep criminals out of the state, right?

Does anyone in these polls or the media or the schools, do they know how to think anything through? Or, are these designed to prevent people from thinking? Because, a “Gun Free Zone” is at best, a kind of delusion.
What If, for example, someone shows up with a gun in a Gun Free Zone and starts shooting, God forbid. What do people expect would be the rational response? Realistically, parents, students, etc, want someone to show up with a gun, and stop the bad guy correct?
If it’s a “Gun Free Zone” shouldn’t this really prevent law enforcement from carrying weapons or using firearms to subdue or stop the threat? I mean, if we REALLY want a Gun Free Zone, let’s take it all the way! No Guns, period. Ever. Right?

It means “free fire” zone, “fish in a barrel” zone, and is one hell of a target for every nutjob out there. If we truly want to protect kids, that’s not a good way to go about it.
