You ever live on a farm with big animals ? 🤓 How many times have you had to chase the bull when he gets out of those wire /wood / electric fences. ? I've chased and I've repaired too many times. They don't work.

I agree a simple one/two wire electric fence won't do. I was suggesting taking one of those sturdy wood/wire fences you have in mind, and put a few thousand volt, couple amp potential on the metal part. DANGER.
