Word For The Day,
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
Mithras with the bull - tauroctony [ta ROCK toe nee]
noun
Tauroctony is a modern name given to the central cult reliefs of the Roman Mithraic Mysteries. The imagery depicts Mithras killing a bull, hence the name tauroctony after the Greek word tauroktonos. For an extensive description and discussion of the Mithras and the Bull myth see here: http://clubweb.interbaun.com/~ejpp/taur/
The sentence must, in someway, relate to the news of the day.
I am an Anthony, and proud of it! In fact, one of the earliest dinosaurs was a Taurotony.
A tauroctony is an epochal event in which great power is destroyed by an heroic, god like personality.
This is too obvious to explain. Regardless, Trump is our Mithras slaying the bull of the Deep State and global corruption at the highest levels.
This is not a Christian myth and must be squared with the ethical and spiritual imperatives of the God of Creation. It is, nevertheless a powerful image.
Have at it, wise ones.
I feel so enlightened.
More taurocopro.
That is a word I have never seen before.
Yeah but Mithras wore a Phriggin cap.
To me, the best tauroctony to use when referencing President trump would be Hercules cleaning out the Augean Stables:

The liberal media is a tauroctony — full of bull, treated as sacred.
I cannot improve on that description.
