I wonder if the most recent ‘boom!’ is because the local law enforcement in Austin was keeping the president informed about the bomber, and they knew who he was, and had enough information to catch him, based on their investigations. The ‘boom!’ could mean they had enough to capture the guy? I haven’t posted anything to the Q threads. This is the first attempt at interpretation so don’t flame me! LOL! They were watching him for several hours, or at least flying drones over his house, and trying to locate him. I.E., they knew who he was, but not exactly where he was. He apparently had gone to a motel. That they learned later in the evening, so you are likely correct.
