Can you put a post JUST PRIOR to the DEFINITIONS post which jumps to a post JUST AFTER the DEFINITIONS post ?
Use a link to the thread and change the #PAGE NUMBER to the next higher number.
For instance, on this thread. The JUMP PAST link would have been post 5. The DEFINITIONS would be 6. The JUMP TO link would be 7.
SO... in post 5 you would have the link... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3641292/posts?q=1&;page=7
It could be tricky if someone managed to get in another post before you could input those 3 posts (actually, you wouldn’t even have to post a third one) so it would need to be done ASAP after the original thread is created.
I cant make heads or tales of this solution, but whatever workds. I have to admit, swordy, that your lexicon posts in the middle of a thread are kinda a pain in the ass. What if you just posted the latest revisions and provided a link to the entire list? I think the revisions are important for everybody to see as you make them, but if we want to see the entire list we can go to the link. And the revision posts with a link would serve to remind people of the list.
Whaddya think?
I never know what post number I will get. . . So probably not. It usually is busy and therell be several posts between hitting reply, and post, before the lexicon actually gets displayed. Ive seen as many as six more replies posted between when the lexicon hits and I can post another reply. . .
I can warn the lexicon will be there in the next few posts. . . I try to hit the bottom of the page so the next page can be hit.
Your idea is good, but not too practical, unfortunately, given the unknowns.
