I read Otto Skorzeny’s book years ago in which he said a commando unit was trapped way behind Russian lines, and were moving to a lake where they were to be picked up by aircraft. They were never heard from again.
My Uncle knew the difference. Just like he knew he Germans were not all Nazis.
Oh, Red Dawn. I was thinking of the group of holdouts that Eisenhower was afraid would be guerilla’s operating behind Allied lines.
I’ve read that USSR Russia used to have similar arms caches in the USA for guerilla warfare if war ever broke out between us.
Wonder if they are still here.
Of all the Nazis, Otto Skorzeny is the most fascinating character of all. Even wound up working for The Mosad after the war.
Probably more myth then truth.
Peter Schweizer has a new book out, “Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends”
Peter will be on Hannity tonight. Heard him on Hannity’s radio show as I was driving home tonight. Robber Barrons are alive and well and Bammy is one of them.
Nearly half Germany’s male population was dead, missing, or captured. They were well and truly defeated, even if on paper they were still had formidable military units. We could have given them all the ammunition and supplies they could need, but nobody could give them the kind of morale boost required. For the most part, all they wanted to do was limp home and see if their families were still alive.
I like them, thanks!
Himmler maintained his massive police apparatus, with battalions of Ordnung Polizie and einsatzgruppen in part because the Nazi hierarchy determined quite early on that the military could be trusted to carry out the Holocaust.
Battle of Texel
*could not be, I meant to say.
It is OUR Constitution not the government’s. We have an absolute obligation to re-establish our liberties and freedom, to restore the nation. MAGA!
Interesting adaptation of language: Werewolves from Wehrwolves?:

It’s a nearly forgotten incident but 8 American fishermen were killed when their trawler dredged up a WWII german torpedo that exploded when the net it was caught in was brought into the boat. Happened on July 23rd 1965 almost 20 years after the war ended. https://www.pressherald.com/2015/07/23/tragic-sinking-of-portland-trawler-still-vivid-50-years-later/
Werewolves there wolves!
Fascinating post! Thanks!
Holdouts hold out. Just like McCabe and Brennan struck nearly instantaneously, after McCabe’s firing.
We fool ourselves thinking evil ends because we like chocolate.
Very nice post.
