The Coast Guard closed four miles of the Mississippi River on Saturday (March 17) after a towboat overturned near Donaldsonville. The crew of the Vincent J. Eymard escaped with no reported injuries onto another towing vessel, the Ellysa.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans learned of the capsizing Friday at 9:30 p.m. near river mile 175.

One of my favorite videos is of a tugboat approaching a bridge on the flooded river which is all the way up to the road way. The tug is backing but the current is too fast and it slikes under the bridge underwater. I think it half capsized doing it, and it popped up on the other side seemingly none the worse for wear.
I’ve watched that before. truly amazing.
