I have several solar powered front yard lamps, the kind you put on a post at end of the front of your home's walkway. Can be set out in the sun or in a sunny window, then used at night. Got them online last year at Home Depots. Check the wattage, some offer better light than others. May be good for bartering too. 🙂

Yup, got a bunch of those too for comparable reasons: yard-decorative niceties that can be repurposed for candle-like indoor lighting in a pinch. Good point on bartering. Can usually buy smaller ones under $1 during fall clearance.

Problem is their batteries don’t last past two years (if one even).
