Attorney General Jeff Sessions late Friday night fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, a little more than 24 hours before McCabe was set to retire.
Sessions announced the decision in a statement just before 10 p.m., noting that both the Justice Department Inspector General and the FBI office that handles discipline had found that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor including under oath on multiple occasions.
He said based on those findings and the recommendation of the departments senior career official, I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately.
The move will likely cost McCabe a significant portion of his retirement benefits, though it is possible he could bring a legal challenge. McCabe has been fighting vigorously to keep his job, and on Thursday, he spent nearly four hours inside the Justice Department pleading his case.

Apparently he was okay until he made it up to the 7th floor. If he does retain some of his pension, it will hopefully go to lawyers since he needs to be brought up on charges.
McCabe claimed that he wanted to continue the Hillary Clinton email investigation, but people at the DOJ wanted it shut down. Sounds to me he has a bargaining chip to use to limit his own prosecution.
Drudge can KMA. He’s gone full “Gay Hollywood” and all their “pillow biting talk”.
Enough.
What are those clowns going to say when the OIG report comes out?
Well that's a pleasant way of saying McCabe lied under oath.
Sorry McCabe, you little corrupt bitch - this is just the first part of the roof falling in on you head.
Let’s see if McCabe starts singing against the secret society...
Ouch.
he loses part of his pension.. his 401K type portion and he will get his social security... he just lost the defined benefit portion called Fers.
If there is proof of this assertion, loss of pension is the least of his worries as he will be facing serious jail time. The liberal meltdown tonight is likely not over concern for Mr. McCabe, but over concern that this might just be an indication that at long last someone is serious about addressing government corruption. He is angry now, but when he gets competent counsel, he will find that he is out on a limb all by himself. As a dirty cop, he has no value to the special counsel or anyone else and his resources will be used up very quickly.
The IG has over 1 million pages on this POS and CRIMINAL CHARGES!
Should McCabe try what you claim he shall, that alone, is ...OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE; yet another crime.
Timing is everything. This has been part of the plan all along...why give the bad guy a break when you can sweat him and get more info out of him?
McCabe’s problems are just beginning. Prison, not pension, is what’s on his mind.
Dont Ignore the Obvious Key Words from AG Sessions: Including Under Oath
SPOT ON!
To quote the great Thomas Wictor:
A lot of STUPID, NEGATIVE, WORTHLESS, INCOMPETENT saboteurs owe Jeff Sessions multiple apologies.
But they’re too gutless to ever admit to being wrong.
He only looses his pension if he has been a federal employee for less than 5 years. After that he has several options depending on when he takes his retirement. If he wait until 62 he gets virtually the same pension as he would have gotten minus a year.
But this is the type of guy who had no problem convicting a General of lying to the FBI and saying, you should have thought about that before you lied. Well, we know he lied to congress and worse withheld the truth that he was obligated to say because it would incriminate him. So, the reality is. If McCabe were the judge of anyone else in his position he would have done the same thing as Sessions.
It is just amazing to me that these government scum who know they are criminals expect that they won’t be found out for the stuff they do.
I take this to mean you think you are entitled to a 'thank you'? The haughty Sessions bashers are completely clueless as to what is literally going on in the Department of Justice. There are some 50,000 employees to review..
Tomorrow morning Sessions needs to assign a prosecutor, convene a grand jury and indict him. Then, on Monday morning indict Comey, and issue subpoenas for documents, records and testimony from other conspirators in the coup attempt.
What is Drudge?
