Yes. There’s a bunch of scientists that have been pointing out and collecting data that the “climate” is strongly impacted by the solar activity.

There’s a lot of charts and graphs, and it seems that these periods have a repeating pattern. The last such period in the USA was in the early 1800s named the Dalton Minimum. These periods also tend to be ones of increased volcanic and seismic activity.

The huge eruption of Mount Tambora as well as other volcanoes is theorized to have lead to the “year without a summer”. This also corresponds to the period when the New Madrid fault zone had it’s big one.

The current minimum has been named the Eddy minimum. Predictions are for shortened growing seasons, and the corn belt etc. to shift slightly south.
