Not a Brit but in talk TV circles and from the context it sounds like the back foot refer may refer to that person waiting in the wings that can get bumped if time runs short. That or a guest who gets little to no attention from the host.
Sounds like Megs spent a lot of time flirting with male guests.

No, I think what Megyn dear had in mind was to be the one to knock President Trump out of the primaries especially on the FIRST DEBATE. To my mind she is a true FEMINAZI.
