Dr. DiCenco says the numbers in a state health department alert about STD’s and HIV among 15-24 year olds in Beaver County are “quite concerning and we, in our practice, have seen an uptick in the number of Gonorrhea and Chlamydia cases.”
The state alert says the cases of Gonorrhea among 15-24 year old men and women were up 34 percent in 2017 compared to 2016. HIV was up almost threefold.
“The HIV rate increasing 300 percent is very concerning,” says Dr. DiCenco.
So why are the numbers among young people rising? Students on the Carnegie Mellon Campus had these responses:
“I guess people don’t think it’s that much of a big deal, especially with the advancement in medical care.”
I don’t know what courses Carnegie Mellon offers but they might want to correspond with some medical students and find out what they say about the current status of medical care for STDs.
Or they could use a search engine on a computer. (a novel approach for these youngsters I know)
Medicine advances constantly but it wouldn’t be as reassuring as they think it is.
No one ever says that to me anymore! lol
I assume most of these young people have been through some kind of public school sex education class. What are they learning?

(First world) HIV is homosexuals and IV drug addicts almost exclusively. Other STD’s are spread by normal sexual behaivor.
IMO among Beaver Co young people, it’s drugs.

Stay out of Beaver and you’ll be okay.
They have learned that ALL problems are solved and paid for by someone else. 3rd world people know differently.
