We had a male goldfinch at our feeder the first week in February. He was a first year male. He stayed at the feeder awhile. I was glad of that because I could almost not believe my eyes. He was half turned a bright yellow. It was an amazing sight. Have not seen him since but given his bright color with no leaf cover - we are in the woods - he probably got nabbed by a hawk.

Well, all G-d’s Creatures gotta eat! ;)

We were watching an old ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ episode last night where Opie had raised a bunch of baby birds after killing the mama with his slingshot. (Life Lesson!)

So, he’s releasing them into the wild again and Beau says, ‘...and they were immediately nabbed by a Hawk!” LOL!

Circle of Life and all that. ;)

P.S. Ithaca says, ‘Hi!’ He’s so happy the worst of winter is over. Man, he’s lookin’ shaggy and mangy; only a mother could love him these days. ;)
