We have some onion sets to put out too. Also ordered some walking onions. Hubby is trying to get as many perennials as he can planted, so that less effort is required going forward.

my first fail report of the season...I ordered some flower bulbs from Michigan seed and their confirmation email said it could arrive anywhere from 3/12 to 6/12....no kidding...

Somebody planted walking onions here before be bought the property.
They’re all over the place...

If possible, I’d suggest tasting walking onions before you decide to grow them. According to the onion-eaters in my family, they have a bitter core. And some of the layers are tough, even after being cooked.

Maybe it was something in my soil that did that, but they turn invasive fast enough that you’ll want to be sure you like them. They’re hard to get rid of if you don’t.

There are other perennial onions to choose from other than the walking kind.
