Ryan Bundy, whose Nevada ranching family was involved in two armed standoffs with U.S. agents over federal ownership of public land, announced Thursday he is running for governor of Nevada. The 45-year-old said he decided to run for governor because he doesn’t believe anyone else vying to succeed term-limited Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval will do enough to protect states’ rights. "We will do whatever it takes, and that means whatever it takes," Bundy told FOX 5 in Las Vegas. "If running for governor is what it takes to preserve our freedom, well then that's part of it."

Yes, Bundy running for governor is a pathetic joke. I cannot image more than a handful of people, mostly family members, that would vote for him. He’s got to know he has less than zero chance to win the election, so what his is doing is a scam, begging for other peoples money to be a grifter for several months. What’s his message? “Look, we can still public grazing, participate and incite armed rebellion, and are alive to talk about it.” Yes, pathetic. He should be in jail or in the ground.

He wasn’t convicted because of prosecutor incompetence. When he took up arms and called for insurrection, he should have been shot dead else sent to Gitmo. We should give no quarter to anyone taking up arms against the US. Never. And that he skated on the charges doesn’t make what he did any less real. Heck, he admitted to it. His run for governor as an independent is a joke, will get him a few donations to live off and run his mouth, that is it. Bet he’ll garner no more than a point or two of votes, if that. Pathetic.
If Bundy wants to upend the uniparty, I’m all for that, although I don’t live in NV.
