In Ezekiel 38, Syria isn’t mentioned. It also says when it id destroyed it will never be inhabited again. Those two things in mind, I think there is a local war (Psalm 83) followed by or coupled with the Burden of Damascus and ending with Ezekiel 38. At that point, Israel thinks her enemies are dead but her worst enemy is yet to come. I think the destruction in Ezekiel 38 precipitates the rebuilding of the temple by one who “guarantees” her peace through his devilish hiss.

If I read my Bible right though, Israel will have a regional war first and Damascus will be destroyed

I’m confused. Has Israel had a regional war? Damascus has been destroyed already. So the question I have been asking since we started bombing Syria, is whether it will be rebuilt and then destroyed again.

It’s very confusing to me, because Israel hasn’t been in a regional war yet. So I don’t see how the destruction of Damascus could be the final one, or am I missing something.
