To be pedantic about it, you copied a plaintext URL that didn;t link to anything, and the FR converted your post of that into a clickable link.

ransmnote suggested that I obfuscate 8chan URLs using tinyurl, and I've done that a couple times. But when I think about it, if the point is to avoid connecting FR to 8chan, using an obfuscated URL makes me MORE guilty - sending to people to 8chan without their awareness.

I am of a mind that a plaintext URL, not being a link and requiring the reader to affirmatively put it in their browser, doesn't run afoul of the "no links" rule. And especially so in the Q adventure, where most people participating and lurking know the source.
