Anyone with a second year geology class can tell you that this has happened regularly to the earth. It is not the end of the world. Magnetic direction is not going to let the atmosphere leave. Its not going to cause the crust to move. Its not going to do much except screw up a lot of land navigation training sessions that week.
And for those of you keeping track at home, 100,000 years to a geologist is a blink of an eye.
