New Orleans police said a 54-year-old woman was given an ultimatum by two men who robbed her while she was walking in Hollygrove early Saturday afternoon (March 3) -- hand over her dog or her purse.
The woman was walking her dog near the intersection of Live Oak and Fig streets around 1:06 p.m. when she was approached by the men, according to a preliminary police report. One of the men wore a black hoodie and the other had a black bandana on his face, the report said.

Keeping the dog.
Give them the dog.
Then while they're standing there with the dog thinking, Really? - pull your gun from your purse and plug'em (being careful to not hit the pooch).
An ultimatum my dog would have enjoyed...
Armed Robber: “Your money or your life!”
Jack Benny: “...I’m thinking, I’m thinking!”
Well, I have a concealed Ruger 380 so that might alter the conversation a bit...
Why would you have a dog the wouldnt attack robbers?
Give the useless dog.
“Take the cannolli ...” leave the dog.
Because a life is more important than a purse or a wallet (neither of which will protect you either).
****Why would you have a dog the wouldnt attack robbers?****
Probably just a tiny poodle or other expensive looking, mini pooch. Wish there was a photo in the article.
That’s what my wife would do - then chastise the dog for walking around in the guy’s messy blood.
I have to choose the dog. I have a Shih Tzu puppy and no one had better lay hands on him if they want to stay dry. He is very kissy.
They would regret trying to take my dog.
He would go from pussycat to wolverine in one second. I like German Shepherds as they just are way.
Or at at Korean restaurant.
I imagine you have an opinion here...

As long as they don’t remove those black items of clothing, citizens should be able to help identify them.
Sixteen bites later and after he’s left a load in their car he will unfortunately be back. I could be so lucky that someone would either take or shoot the wife’s dog. Demon Yorkie. I warned her that there was a reason such a cute dog was in the shelter. Nothing for it now but to hope that I outlive him. Pretty sure he feels the same about me.
The dog.
And I get a lot of grief here for being heartless regarding animals because I believe there should be NO animal rights laws.
But everything in my wallet can be replaced. Everything. The dog is a beloved friend, until I get really, REALLY hungry. :)
If she had a gun, she could have given the bastards a choice: a bullet in the heart or in the brain.
