With three northern white rhinos left in the world, the only male is gravely ill, raising fears the subspecies is getting closer to extinction.

Raising fears? It seems to me a foregone conclusion. If these are the only 3, there extinction is absolutely imminent and can be forecasts on calendar. Are people unsure if the two females can perpetuate the species without a male?

Why yes, of course can they can. Its what US college campuses and parts of the media have declared. Its our new science

Subspecies. Is that more restrictive than “breed?” I mean, are white rhinocerii (sp?) more different from the common black kind than St. Bernards are from Chihuauas?

“Are people unsure if the two females can perpetuate the species without a male? “

Well, DNA and Chromosome 23 in humans are completely denied, and we are now told that men can get pregnant and menstruate and that women can father children.
So maybe one of the rhinos identifies as male?

It's science - ask any liberal. If one of the females identifies as a male, then they will be able to perpetuate the species. How they feel about themselves is more important than the trivial DNA and anatomical details conservatives seem to fixate upon.
