Police arrested a tomato grower in Aichi Prefecture on Thursday on suspicion of stealing about 160 Chinese cabbages from a nearby field, as the price of the leafy vegetable has remained high in the country since late last year. Ikuo Shiono, 40, is suspected of taking Chinese cabbages worth ¥80,000 ($750) on Jan. 29 and 30 from a field in the city of Toyohashi. According to the police Shiono has admitted to the allegation, saying he thought he could sell the produce at a high price. He also said he was involved in three other Chinese cabbage thefts in the city in January and February, according to the police.

One of the local dairies had to switch to all diesel because of gas thefts. They filled their gas tanks with water. Most of the cars made it to the road. One of them had (4) 5 gal cans of water in the back seat. Some of the vehicles were seen at a local shade tree mechanic.

"I`ve had tobacco,cattle,corn hay stolen."

Pecans are a big 'steal crop' here. Even picking them up off the ground too.

Saw a video last year people randomly stopping on a road bordering a sweet potato field and helping themselves to pick up truck loads then skedaddling.

I can’t be bothered to pick up many pecans in our yard. The dogs love to munch on them shells and all.

Pecans are a big 'steal crop' here. Even picking them up off the ground too.

Friend of mine was assaulted by a nut-job, up here in north Alabama, after she picked up a pecan from the grounds of the local library.

The nut-job was raising hell about the pecans being government property and people should pay for them, etc.

He struck her with a device that has a basket for picking pecans from the ground.

After arrest, he was found to have 40 pounds of the "government property pecans" in his back seat.

I have a small grove of 6 trees on my property.

Year after year, I have idiots drive across a seeded field to get to the pecans.

One and all think they are just free to anyone that desires to pick them up...one hippy-looking liberal screwball calling them "natures bounty".

I told the bitch I'd send the tax notice for "natures bounty" to her to pay.

Damn fools.

He’s a grower- why doesn’t he GROW his own? Plant ‘em between the tomato plants.
