They’re ok with that because they promote the idea the parties switched ideologies at some point; so the repubs are really the democrats of today.
Yeah. That never made sense to me at all, but that’s what they believe. Slavery, Jim Crow, Segregation, KKK, Standing in the school house door, opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 — all of that is somehow, magically tied to the Republicans, and — through some miracle — the Democrats are now the Good Guys of US History.
