“The lobster tails were worth about $1,900.”

Wow, must be some DAMN GOOD LOBSTER. I typically don’t pay more than $20 or so each.

I’d love to see what punishment would be doled out by Joe Pesci if the casino was being managed by Robert DeNiro.

These must have been some SPECIAL lobster tails, to be worth $76 EACH, IMO.

"The lobster tails were worth about $1,900"

I wonder if they calculated that number using the price of the lobster on the menu or what the restaurant paid for them?

Actual value is probably $50.00. I’m sure that’s what the casino paid for them. Whatever. He stole and stealing is stealing.

I fail to understand the popularity of these bottom feeding scavengers. Yes, I’ve had them with drawn butter. Not a fan.

Were they cooked, destined for the trash? True value would be $0, although still against the rules to take them.

I took home food a lot when I worked fast food years ago, with management's permission. Never knew I was a criminal.

That’s $76 per lobster tail. A chicken lobster tail is roughly 3 to 4 ounces, which would make it $400 per pound.

Now, maybe these were big tails.

Or, maybe the total is the retail list price charged to non-comped guests for a lobster dinner, not the cost of the lobsters to the restaurant/casino.

Still, theft is theft... but upping the price changes simple theft to grand larceny. Theft is wrong; so is prosecutorial over-charging.

You’ve got to be eleventeen different kinds of stupid to risk your freedom over lobster tails (or any other food, for that matter).
