A Saluda man is facing kidnapping charges for his role the abduction of a teenage girl from Kentucky, authorities said Friday.
Saluda County deputies arrested 24-year-old Florencio Gomez Saiche on Tuesday after receiving a report from family members about a missing 16-year-old girl who they suspected was at the man’s residence.
Saiche told authorities nobody else was at his home, but police heard movement inside and conducted a security sweep, when they found the girl.
An investigation found the girl was taken Dec. 7 and confined to a bedroom in Saiche’s residence. She was able to contact family through social media when Saiche was not around.
Saiche was charged with kidnapping and first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Actually, he is not a “Saluda man.”
He is here illegally, as is the girl.

According to deputies the girl was taken from Kentucky on or about December 7 of last year and driven to Saluda County. While kidnapped, the girl was kept in a bedroom until she was able to make contact with family through social media when the suspect was not around.”
