I think I have come up with a really elegant retort to those that call for banning firearms after the Florida school shooting.
Liberal: "WE NEED TO BAN GUNS TO PREVENT ANOTHER SCHOOL SHOOTING."
Me: "I say we ban children instead. It would be more effective than even gun bans at preventing another school shooting."
It does two things: It shocks the person who uttered the gun ban line, and it demonstrates the absurdity of trying to ban things to prevent school shootings.

There are many similarities you can demonstrate to the liberal, using this premise.
Liberal: "I'm not talking about banning all guns. Just the black evil-looking ones."
Me: "I'm not talking about banning all children. Just the black evil-looking ones."
The possibilities of the retort in the original message are endless.

I say we just ban school shooting. You could call it a “gun free zone”. Maybe even get its own hash tag.

Wait... don’t we already have a law against murder? So more laws will be more effective, huh?

The Lakeland shooting illustrates why the age of majority needs to be raised to 21 years old.
Or higher.

We need to ban SCHOOLS to prevent another school shooting.
Or better yet - require all schools to become Catholic Schools. There was a thread earlier that indicated there has NEVER been a school shooting at a Catholic School.
So there ya go.

I say this is even more reason to promote home schooling. It not only prevents school shootings, but also lowers property taxes.

How about ban the FBI? They seem to be a great deal involved in how the perpetrators of this incidents legally acquired the firearms they used to commit them.

I like your logic.
Here’s another good one- how about the “School Shooter” video game?
It could have ‘gun free’ zones vs schools with armed military trained guards. Player can write their own gun laws.
The game itself could be educational, plus it would force those otherwise reluctant to finally confess the effects of violent games/movies/TV.
