I played with fire and gasoline as a kid and made some really stupid decisions.
Just lucky, I guess.
It’s a horrible way to go but I see similar stories often. NEVER NEVER NEVER use gasoline to get fire going.
Diesel is what I use to get the backyard fire going but who has that around the house? Every house has a can of gas in the garage for the lawnmower so that’s what the uneducated use, often with tragic results.
I would pour puddles of rubbing alcohol on the concrete floor of the garage and set it aflame. I’m surprised I didn’t burn the garage to the ground.

I lit a field on fire,with gasoline, next to the Captain of the Base’s house. Never got caught and never told any one about it until I was 18. I was 10 when it happened and my Dad was the senior enlisted man on the base.
