Simpson-Mazzoli, no mention of chain migration, it might not have even been a term back then.

And the alternative is 1,000,000 chain migrants a year and you can bet your bottom dollar, they all do have a path to citizenship.

Perhaps a lot of that 1.8 million won’t even become citizens.

But if doing nothing about immigration is what one wants, Cruz is the man to support. No wall, no increased border security and so on.

Judges also keep on striking down Trump rescinding DACA, that’s in the news.

There’s a reason I didn’t vote for Cruz in the primaries. I simply don’t trust him.

He was the Solicitor General for the State of Texas and has argued numerous times before the SCOTUS so I'm guessing he knows measurably more about the constitution than some self appointed expert on FR!!!!

Character counts too, anyone can spout nice sentences and take them back later, if they are duplicitous and self serving. Like Cruz.

I guess anyone can run against amnesty and then double what the democrats were asking for

Ted Cruz is not a natural born citizen, ineligible to be President.

Several Federal Judges beg to differ!!!!

Several federal judges think they can make immigration policy, too.

Who knows when Cruz even got any kind of US citizenship. That alone means he’s a liar and has no understanding of the basic principle of natural born citizenship.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think he does know exactly what the founders meant, but it was inconvenient to his ambition.
He has an immigration file if he is indeed a US citizen.
All children born abroad have to file paperwork for recognition by the government.
We need to see it.
If we had chosen Ted Cruz, Hillary Clinton would be president. Period.
True.
I would not have been able to vote.
I could not vote for an ineligible man or for Hildebeast.
Wishful thinking by the Cruzites. They should stop trying to make Cruz a thing. He’s NEVER going to happen.
Thing is nine Federal Judges through their rulings can make immagration policy. Neither one of our opinions count....as it stands right now he has been cleared by several people whose opinions count at the moment!!!
And Rick Santorum and Barry Goldwater.
Santorum really pioneered the way for the likes of Cruz and others, in '12, he was pilloried for being pro-marriage, normal marriage that is, Constitutional as well.
Cruz just has this sales pitch as he is Mr. Constitution vs. others and rehashes a lot of what Rush says.
Forgiving law breaking is amnesty, though Cruz may not have offered a path to citizenship, he really can’t say he has not been for offering a forgiving of law breaking, amnesty.
I’d gladly and comfortably vote for him if he were the nominee. Whatever courts decide is what I”ll go with.
Still, we are not going to see a wall, more border security legislatively that is, per Cruz’s plan, the votes are not there. Nothing will be done.
And if that question were asked today the count would be very different....fact is the argument isn't if you agree. Fact is is they have the final word. POTUS averages around sixty cases a year. Roughly ten percent of the cases brought before them. Do you really think they would overturn a decision already unanimously agreed on by several judges. Ted Cruzes eligibility isn't on the list of things the Supreme Court will consider!!!
