Staff at the Travelodge did the right thing by reporting what they believed to be suspicious activity to officers, although thankfully there was nothing untoward and it turned out to be a misunderstanding.'
I'm not sure what to think about this - it was horrible that this innocent man and his daughter, already suffering great anguish, had to be subjected to this treatment. But this policy of reporting suspicious behavior might save some other young girl being victimized some day.

The idiots at the Travelodge knew it was the only room left when they rented it to him. I’d sue the bastards lily white.

I’d rather know they were observing than turning a blind eye.
Shocking for this father and daughter, sure. But in the long run could save someone.
Unfortunately, our society needs these kind of observers.

Only men are presumed guilty until proven innocent. Such assumptions would never apply to women.

I know what to think about it. It’s pure crap. What indication was there that he was a pedophile? So now is a man automatically a suspect of one of the worst possible imaginable crimes simply because he dares to be out in public with his daughter?
Very twisted. If a mom checked in with her teenage son would the clerk call 911?
