While America was throwing money away in endless wars, the rest of the world was building and building. Now, America is over 20 years behind the rest of the world. Not every nation outside of the USA is a third world shithole.

To generalize the “rest of the world” like that is beyond foolish. 3rd world countries still use s-holes and finding potable water is a daily challenge for their population. Emerging countries like the cities you showed have a small percentage of rich and the rest poor...and outside of those cities people use s-holes. The EU comes close, but look at travel brochures that explain bathroom and air conditioning may not be up to North American standards. Canada is nice, but they are doing the whole high tax, universal government healthcare thing. Over all I wouldn’t pick anywhere else to live though I have visited many other places.

Hey,vannrox....I've been to China...several times.I've visited Guangzhou and Shenzhen,most recently about 3 years ago.My first visit to Guangzhou was in 1980.The streets were lined with drab,Soviet style buildings and "rush hour" consisted of a number of buses,a few Soviet style limos and about 500,000 bicycles.Three years ago there were glass and steel skyscrapers and traffic jams featuring Kias and Toyotas.

But what struck me during the train ride back to Hong Kong (I flew the other way) was that once you were three miles south of those skyscrapers you were back in the 16th Century with people living like animals.

The Chinese economy might be several miles wide,but it's only an inch deep.But then your government won't tell you that...for obvious reasons.
