A shocking number of people say that just before the attack, they got an ominous feeling and wanted to get out of the water I've had this feeling a few times while swimming. One, I can still remember after almost 30 years. It still creeps me out. Not that I feared a shark attack. Just a sense of dread. Plus thinking of how far from shore I was.

Considering that it’s sort of like going into the heart of grizzly country half blind wearing a ball and chain, it’s surprising that more people aren’t attacked and killed in the ocean by sharks. We’re out of our element and very vulnerable. They are not.

Born in Tiburon, Mr. Anderson began an obsession with great whites... Interesting... "Tiburon", in Spanish, means shark...

Oh, if it was only an investigative bite... Is there a difference in the damage an investigative bite will do, as opposed to a real bite?

“The shark looked her over at the surface, determined she wasnt interesting, and swam off.
Much like a blind date.
Not that has ever happened to me, mind you.

The majority of shark attacks80 to 85 percentdirected at humans are investigative... A taste test. If you are too bony, the shark doesn't bother "investigating" further. :)

Oh, investigative, huh. Well, just pat the shark on the head and say good boy.
You swim in a shark’s kitchen, don’t be surprised when you’re dinner.

The most chivalrous fish in the ocean
To ladies forbearing and mild,
Though his record be dark
Is the man-eating shark
Who will eat neither woman nor child.
