Apache is a commonly used, open-source web server software program. It could very well be the web server used for the SecureDrop web site.
It is. I did some further research on possible interpretations of Apache and here is the latest revision to that entry on the list:
- APACHE: (#643) The Internet domain hosting Securedrop in Belgium, also Apache programming language which may have been used to write SecureDrop, also database software that apparently runs SecureDrop, or Apache Co. (NYSE:APA), an oil and exploration company that Rothschilds Family Trust (++) divested their one-third ownership interest in in mid January. Apache runs natively on Android mobile devices but runs only on Apple iOS devices that have been jailbroken which could be why Q noted a dichotomy between Googles [new Pixel phone], [Samsung] and Apples iPhones in drop #771 with the Android phones in kill boxes.
The Apple devices are locked down and are 256 bit AES encrypted with only the user in possession of the encryption key, but the vast majority of Android devices are not encrypted at all unless the user opts to get a third party encryption app.
Oh, Thanks for the hints.
