Maybe it was just an attempt at portraying Alpine mythology/folklore by people with little talent, education, or understanding of what they were attempting to reinterpret.
The ‘arts’ stink everywhere, these days.
If you watched videos of that opening ceremony it was obviously a lot worse than merely not enough talent, education or uderstanding of what they were trying to reinterpret. It was meant to be shocking, disgusting and horrible.
