Now that is strange because, ostensibly, the autists weren't chosen...they merely showed up on 4/8chan and started analyzing Q's drops.

This "chosen" comment implies something else entirely.

I would remind you that the autists on 8chan and the autists at Reddit/r/the_donald have been establishing and honing their collective forensic skills from the outset of the Trump announcement. Watching through the campaign and election it was clear that those folks did a wonderful job of turning the tide against the machine designed to assure a Clinton victory against anyone but Trump. Their humor, computer skills, investigative skills and memeing abilities were second to none.

The choice was were to place the Q-drops.

4/8chan are autists, they were before Q. They were memeing (?) kek during the campaign, behind Trump (remember Hillary declaring the green frog was a white supremist or some such thing.)

Q picked that board (4 chan), knowing they would dig in and investigate. That’s what they do when they are interested and they do it well.

Rooster. It’s my understanding that Q started posting on 4chan then got trolled/hacked and move to 8chan and got some kind of personal code or something from them to make secure drops. I think Q did “choose” them. Also he knows they are weaponized autists.

Weren’t the autists already frequenting 4Chan? Wasn’t there some Wiki Leaks stuff posted there that the autists started investigating? Trying to recall - I think it was.

Is it possible that Q team noticed and thought that would be a good way to slowly leak things and so chose the 4Chan board, thinking that those guys would swarm to the task?
