unbelievable!!
Interacting with that many objects while gliding seems rather dangerous, though.
Nice. Prolly about 15 to 20% real. “My worries as big as the moon”. That’s pretty much real.
Professional movie quality photography. Planned ahead?
I reckon it is. Not wanting to throw water on it but...that’s just the kind of thing that prevents people from living to be 100. What would be more “awesome”, risking 60-70 years of your life for some cool HD video clips or living to be 100?
Life expectancy is currently 78 for men & women. Life is a one-time experience and challenges come in many forms. Raising kids, pursuing hobbies, travel, exploring the world.
Everything has risks - but this endeavor seems ‘way above’ the norm.
It is the interacting with things that looks really cool in a video. It is also what is really dangerous.
I am reminded of the Roy Halladay crash. The Icon A5 he was flying was a pretty cool plane, and was reasonably safe. But what he was doing with it was increasingly dangerous. If you look at the promotional videos for the Icon A5, it shows the aircraft, in perfect conditions in the hands of a very skilled pilot, skimming over the water and flying near obstructions. It looks really cool. At one point, the pilot dips a wingtip into the water, sending up a glorious rooster tail, and it is just beautiful.
When Roy Halladay got his airplane, it looked like he was trying to fly it in the same manner he had seen it demonstrated, at very low altitude, making radical maneuvers. But the conditions were not as perfect, and he was not nearly as skilled. He was dead within weeks.
If flying is that exciting, youre doing it wrong.
Nah, happens to me all the time. A perfect 10 just happens to be sunbathing on a beach by herself when I'm setting up a shoot for a parasailing friend, and no one tries to photobomb us, and she doesn't get creeped out by my filming her or complain when friend swoops down and unties her bra string. Just another Tuesday.
Once you hit 55, you start wondering how you ever made it that far and you stop talking about any of the things you did that could have killed or seriously injured yourself or somebody else.
...everybody remembers the first time a glider tried to swoop in and out of a hanger...*THUMP!*....I can hear my grandmother now “ keep it up,sum body’s gonna loose an eye”
Son of a friend was learning to kite surf. He was on the beach getting ready, gust of wind unexpectedly picked him up and slammed him into the cliff. Dead. Age 18 or so.
Obviously it’s staged, and they admit as much. Apparently it is not photoshopped or otherwise artificial.
I assume he has/had tons of experience before trying some of those hazardous sequences.
Yeah, it just goes to show how unforeseen circumstances can make all the difference. An 18 year-old today has a better-than-ever chance at living to be 100+. However, trying to top Evel Knievel or becoming an extreme sports “icon” may be symptomatic of a lack of the will to survive.
That was one of the coolest videos I’ve seen in a while and I loved the music...
I don’t foresee a long life in this guy’s future. Sure looks fun though.
Heck, I could do that if I had those clothes.
A long lazy life or daring detours?
With God in our hearts we will find our way.
Obey gravity, its the law.
