I dont agree, but who cares. It has long been noted that Indians speaking English sound a lot like Welsh speaking English. To my ears they both have a certain musicality.
Interesting considering the modern school system and the English language was brought to them in the 1830s.
The Indians that I know do not have revolting accents nor pronunciation. I am actually highly impressed with their linguistic skills. English and Hindi are their main languages, yet all of them speak multiple languages, some upwards of 5. Maybe I’m biased because I formed personal relationships and consider them friends.
Now, the more uneducated do butcher English. While I was in Mumbai, my driver understood my American English with my Texas drawl. It took much more for me to understand his heavily accented English.
