Full Title: Trump wants a military parade and liberals are hysterical (just more proof it's the right thing to do)
President Trump wants a parade celebrating our military and troops. Its a great idea, and is a perfect event symbolizing the fact that America is getting back on her feet after eight years of a commander-in-chief who reveled in complaining about America and decimating our military.
The hysteria the proposed parade has provoked among Democrats and leftists provides even more proof that its the right thing to do.
Who could argue against a parade that highlights the Americans who defend our freedom and make everything else possible? A military parade would be fun, would honor our vets and would remind the world that America is a superpower and proud of it.
For eight years, President Obamas administration worked hard to tell the world that America was done. He slashed the militarys budget and withdrew us from the world. Horrifically, on foreign soil he apologized for and chastised his own country.
President Obama gave the impression, through word and deed, that he thought the U.S. was the problem in the world.
The result was abject chaos, terrorist groups spreading around the world like cancer, economic stagnation, North Korea getting atomic weapons, and a worldwide refugee crisis the extent of which had not been seen since World War II.
Critics of President Trumps parade idea complain that only tyrants and strongmen want military parades. But President Trumps inspiration was the Bastille Day celebration and military parade he viewed in France a Western nation with a democratically elected government that no one could accuse of being an oppressive military dictatorship.

Maybe to a service-avoiding, enemy-embracing, freedom-enjoying-yet-not-duty-performing sort (not you, I’m sure) it would seem so.
But the rest of us are just fine with being our country’s warriors/fighters/combatants. Something to proud of, right?
So much better than being forced to speak Russian, German, Japanese, or Chinese by new masters, isn’t it?
I wonder if he is the one who shot Bin Laden. I remember when they went to the White House and Obama wanted to shake the hand of the one who shot Bin Laden they all refused. The reason was that the shooter would be singled out for assassination for the rest of his life.
This guy and other uninformed critics should study US history.
just a plain UnAmerican attitude buddy. Its tragic that your totalitarian mindset is so widespread. MacArthur would be appalled. Eisenhower would hang his head in shame.
Vermont, understood. Trump never had a chance there.
Actually, it make us look like Sears, selling our assets because we’re broke.
Wow! Your history scope is like totally broken! Patton, MacArthur, and Eisenhower loved military parades..
And let’s see - what were the members of the Continental Army? A glee club?
Nah, this country survives only because of the courageous and selfless warriors/ war fighters who have kept the barbarians at bay.
Thank the vets, son.
better to sell while they still have value, because the feds are broke; dead broke.
I also reccomend selling off zillions of acres of federal land out West.
This country has experienced 7 big time defaults on govt debts . Most of the time, the govt has managed a soft default to soften the blow. I sure wouldnt want to be dependent on any govt pension or payments in the future.
Therefore - sell while we still can and eliminate the debt
sad !
Citizen-Soldiers continentals they were
So we agree that it makes us look broke to the world, like a 3rd world nation.
I'd like to learn more.
Please, go on.
Nah, regular army - the “citizen-soldiers” - the militia ran like poultry, battle after battle.
The pros beat the snot out of everyone from Saratoga to San Juan Hill to the Meuse Argonne to Aachen to Iwo to Chosin to Hue City to the Anbar.
If you don’t feel appreciative, well fine. Pay your taxes on time and stay out of the way.

Producer of New York City Veterans Day Parade names new Executive Director
it’s bloody time we STOPPED walking softly! We had eight years of that and you can go back to the Vietnam War and the horrors committed against our troops by the likes of Jane Fonda and John Kerry to add more years to the total against our troops.. It is long past time to stand up and tell the world AMERICA IS BACK! I stood on the sidewalk watching our troops, missiles, tanks and trucks go by headed south down the main street of my town during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I had my young son in my arms and it gave me great pride and encouragement to see that display of Military Might. That son became a 20 year Marine. I am proud of him and all the servicemen I have known starting with WWII. PRIDE in our country and its defenders is nothing to be quiet about. The weenies take care of that.
Chainmail is absolutely correct. He’s been there!
But no tanks, please.
.................................
Baloney!!! Bring on the tanks!!!!@
Mr. President—hardware on display will not accomplish that. Prior imagery of that tool by other nation’s leaders is too strong and offensive to several generations of Americans for it to accomplish your desired purpose!
..............................................
Mr President, DO put the hardware on display so that our young people with good parents will see things that INSPIRE them. The wimps who are afraid to see a pistol, let alone a tank, will never grow up worth a damn in protecting our country.
I see it as a way to show pride in our country, respect and honor our military. I don’t see it as a “show” of military might at all...
Patriotism, I believe most Americans are patriotic but those that hate this country get the attention. We need to unite in patriotism. We have had our military fighting the War on Terror for many years, it is past time to thank them, honor them, show respect to them.
Why don’t you just shut up and disappear, Vooch. You continue to show your ignorance while you grasp for talking points of which you know nothing! FYI General Eisenhower, when elected President, had TANKS in his INAUGURAL PARADE! Gen, MacArthur would have taught you about REAL soldiers, like Wainwright!
Well I am highly entertained watching their meltdown. What I have seen on FB is people turning it on them that they are not patriotic and do not support our military. That twists them for sure.
Is a perversion of 200 years of our Republics ideals. The term only became used in the 1990s; another sign of decline
..........................................................
The word “WARRIOR” is derived from the OLD FRENCH, meaning Soldier, especially a brave soldier. Derived from Guerrier taken from Guerre, meaning WAR.
The term is as old as history of civilized people. Only idiots think it came into use in the 1990’s. In the 1940’s we were talking about our warriors.
