I'm scared to post this for fear of being yelled at, banned, hurting Jim's feelings...I truly value, love, enjoy everyone here, even those I've argued with...we are family. That said, families ask tough questions...
Over the past year, more recently, fewer posts are made getting the scoop, informing, starting great discussions. I've always considered myself a bit player here, and such a Friday cat and scared of technology, I lurked for 5 yrs before making a user ID, so my dob on Freep really isn't accurate...been here a while.
So I ask who are we? Our purpose is?
Jim is a patriot, created a community and tool to protect and inform the republic...I have noticed a shift...if I post something, lately I am shocked no one else did before me...am I alone in noticing this?
Perhaps it is a sign of our tech and political times...GP, Last Refuge and Sundance, the Chan's 4 and 8, Q and qcodefag, all the Twitter analyses by those interpreting Q...Breitbart...etc.
I go to these sites, get the scoop, go to Freep, and am surprised no one usually is discussing what I just read...no, this isn't 100% of the time, but a lot. What changed? I don't think we are disinterested, but maybe takes too much h effort to post and we have even shorter attention spans or just want to get informed and move on? Am I guilty of laziness?
Sunday, the thread discusses some of this from the week gone by, but I'm hoping we aren't reducing ourselves to a weekly thread and that's it...

I have posted FR articles/threads on FB and get a little response, but I find MOST people are Heads down, working, doing things with family, and trying to ignore the reality of what's going on. Plus a whole new generation has been brainwashed.

You are correct, but in this case, it was not a spelling error, but obviously (to most people) auto-correct.
I realized that after that post. I figured the exhortation was still fitting for a lot of naysaying contrarians. Thanks for your understanding.
The posting questionnaire is really stupid and old. Nowhere else do you have to go through those dumb time consuming steps. I don’t understand why it is so ancient. It keeps me from posting.
I love this place because of the people here. The tech is just not up to todays internet reliance. There should be an app or the site should be made easier for mobile devices too. It’s ridiculous to post from a phone. The search feature is so bad you have to use an outside search function.
And the same topic should have a thread but it ends up having 10 threads. This doesn’t happen on more updated boards.
I’d argue that there’s too much going on for a single source to cover all of it...especially considering all the fake narrative the left keeps conjuring up. It isn’t even real. So to keep up with all of the real information as well as the fiction is really too much. We live in an age where speed-of-thought can be transmitted instantly, it’s just an avalanche 24/7.
Yes, just some tech modernization to result in easier to post, search, and keep topics in a thread collection on that topic. The “topics” in the questionnaire to post are really stupid. I’d like to see FR go on but how can it if it is never updated infrastructure style.
+1. We have way too many gatekeepers and editors to distract. A good idea or opinion from outside FR gets posted and immediately the first 10 resonses are either complaints about blog pimps or spelling/grammar errors. Great job.
I appreciated your post in any case. I detest spelling/grammar Nazis. I never could spell, but I was good in mathematics and have a degree in accounting and finance. Very frustrating when someone will not even consider what I said in a post because of a misspelled word.
Hopefully these fine folks won’t completely ignore warning of an imminent threat for the same reason.
I thought we were here to post before reading the article.
There will come a day when FR will end unless something changes to modernize it. Sad, but true, because 20 years (and counting) is the stone age in technology. It's possible that both hardware and software technology will advance far enough that an ancient site like FR will no longer run on it in the future.
I'm pretty sure that there should have been no apostrophe in Nazi's, unless you intended to show possession.

IMHO, with “smarter, more complex s/w, then FR’s hardware and Internet pipe couldn’t keep up.

I tried posting newsworthy items, but I’m getting tired of being slammed. Part of the problem is there is so much “news” that doesn’t cite sources. Part of it is because people don’t want to read what they don’t want to hear. It intrudes on whatever reality that have created for themselves and they tend, all too often, to get hostile.
Honestly, I’m getting tired of it...not worth the aggravation.
I’ll just point out that AMIPRO (~’96?)had way better spelling, usage, gramma and sentence structure analysis and it ran fine on a 486....

I think the way we get news has changed, and fr hasn’t. Just the q stuff alone, would have, in the old days, gotten tons of quality replies. Last night it did, but in other q drops, it is just a bunch of trolls. One poster posted over 75 times with one post being on topic, and the rest was her fighting with other freepers, or playing a victim. Who wants to wade through all that crap. Same with the pizzagate threads. There are a lot of good blogs and you tube channels to bring to the forum, but nope, not allowed. Heck, you mentioned CTH. I really like reading him too, but so many times the posts are about Sundance and how said poster doesn’t like him. They won’t debate what he just wrote, just want all the rest of us to know their feelings. It really gets old.
